Current Club: L’Orient

Opinion: Would be an excellent signing if possible. It’s time for us to spend some money, and a punt from abroad with a good goal record is exactly what we need. Similar player to Weiman , but seems good value in the current market.

Position(s): Striker

Possible price: £5-6m

Current Club: Slovan Bratislava

Opinion: Once again a fantastic goal scoring record, but someone not proven at Championship level. He is in the peak of his career at 25, and is rightfully attracting attention from clubs like Celtic and Shaktar Dontesk. Will be tough to get, but if we do? Wow.

Current Club: Leeds (loan – parent club Arsenal)

Opinion: Obviously he is a high quality player and no one can deny it. He would score goals, and be a useful player for us. However, in my opinion, with all that has been said about aspirations for the club to grow, reach the Premier League etc, I feel we can’t rely as much on loan signings. If the club kick on largely because of a base of players we don’t have tied down permanently, we are in risk of weakening once they leave.

Current Club: Crystal Palace

Opinion: A bit unexpected, but no denying he is (or was) a quality player. In his peak, and take away the injuries, Wickham was a mid-table Premier League standard player. But, injuries have hampered his career, as he’s experienced goal droughts and inconsistent performances. It’s a massive risk, but it could have great rewards should it pay off.

Dwight Gayle

Possible price: £12m

Current Club: Newcastle

Opinion: The expensive option, with guaranteed quality. Less likely by the second, but still definitely in the frame. The amount of money (and considering his age) could seem wrong when we obviously want to recruit in other areas though.

Opinion: Once again, a freakishly good player for us to be linked with. I’m perfectly happy with our Centre Back situation, so unless one or two of them leave this coming window I feel there is absolutely no need. Quality player mind.

Opinion: Great performances this season. Someone who can fill in half of Josh’s void (should he go) and bring some more attacking flair. Mighty expensive though, could a better player be found for a lower price? Probably.
