Just the regular TUS:
A lot of focus, in the past few days, has been on Nakhi Wells and Ivan Toney, but Lyle Taylor is the man to watch out for. A bid from City involving Kasey Palmer has already been placed, and rejected, but no second bid has been placed, as of yet. However, City fans hoping for this signing should not be discouraged. The reds are still incredibly confident of making this signing, as the Charlton striker only has until the end of the season before his contract runs up. Nothing close, but things will fall into place very easily, if the Robins cough up the required fee and wages that they need to pay. Brentford have also placed a bid, but should the Robins involve Kasey Palmer in the deal, they would be first in the cue.
Burnley could form a crucial partnership with the Robins this window. With the Reds heavily interested in 2 Burnley players and vice versa. Nakhi Wells being one and Matej Vydra being the other. The Bermudan international has been tipped to sign for the Bristol club, by former Robin Shaun Goater. The 29 year old was recalled from QPR this week with Nottingham Forest and QPR also hunting for his signing, but City are in the strongest position. Matej Vydra has also emerged as a target, but may be a difficult one to get over the line. Burnley, meanwhile, want skipper Josh Brownhill and Swedish wing wizard Niclas Eliasson could be involved in any of those deals.
Two trialists have been involved for the U23s this week, West Ham youngster Kai Corbett and an unknown player. Attacking midfielder Corbett put in a shift against QPR U23s showing his dazzling tricks and pace that has led to him scoring over 150 goals for the WHUFC youth set up. Another player on trial with the club this week took to Charlton’s youth side, in a 4-0 battering. His name is unknown, but Bristol Live reported on the story:
“City had a trialist wearing the number five and playing at centre-half alongside Harvey Smith.”
“He communicated well throughout, but the game got more difficult for him as it wore on and Charlton turned the screw.”
“He tried to use his physicality, but he got rolled a couple of times after over-committing, and his passing was a bit wayward.”
